Frequently asked questions
Should I choose a Polycarbonate or a Stainless Steel mirror for my site?
If your mirror is for indoor use or a protected carpark, Polycarbonate is the most cost-effective and impact-resistant choice; however, for outdoor public roads, coastal areas, or extreme industrial heat, Stainless Steel is superior because it is completely rust-proof and will not degrade under harsh UV sunlight.
How do I know which mirror size is correct for my viewing distance?
The general rule is that every 10mm of mirror diameter equals 1 meter of viewing distance; for example, a 600mm mirror is ideal for distances up to 15-20 meters, while an 800mm or 1000mm mirror is necessary for large intersections or heavy vehicle traffic where you need to see much further.
Can I install a wall-mount mirror onto a pole later if I change my mind?
Most of our convex mirrors come with universal bracket kits, but it is important to check the specific fitting; usually, a Pole Mount bracket uses a U-bolt clamp to grip a 2.5-inch or 3-inch pipe, while a Wall Mount bracket uses a flat plate with pre-drilled holes for masonry bolts.
Do these mirrors require any special cleaning or maintenance?
Because these products are “set and forget,” they only require a simple wipe-down with water and a soft microfibre cloth every few months to remove dust or rain spots; you should avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads that could scratch the reflective coating.
